Our Board
The Leelanau Children's Center Board of Directors provides oversight and fundraising support to LCC programs and hires and evaluates the Executive Director. The Board is comprised of fifteen or more devoted parents and community members who agree to serve 3-year terms. To reflect the communities LCC serves, the Board makes every effort to seat several LCC parents from the Leland and Northport centers, teachers from the Leland and Northport public schools, and community members from throughout the county.
Leelanau Children's Center Board members are expected to attend meetings, participate in committees spread the LCC word among their communities, friends and family. And finally, LCC Board members are expected to help LCC maintain our high quality programs by sharing their perspective on our work. Board Meetings
Formal ConsensusThe LCC Board operates using the Formal Consensus decision making process which ensures that Board decisions are made with care, depth and with full consensus that each decision will advance the LCC mission. CommitteesThe LCC Board is informed by committees, and all Board members are expected to sit on one fundraising and one standing committee. The core of LCC Board work takes place at the LCC committee level. Committees bring updates of their work and proposals to improve LCC operations to the full Board for review and decision. Board committees are comprised of Board members, parents and community members. Committee meetings are scheduled at the convenience of the committee members. Standing Committees
