Berkeley Gossett cooks both snacks and lunches from scratch. He is devoted to broadening the pallets of everyone here at the center with his new and fun recipes. Please stop in any time to enjoy a good meal!
Parents, staff and community members - thank you for all the produce you have shared with us. The drop-offs have made cooking and eating even more interesting around here!
I used KALE four times last month in meals with great success. Kale chips are a hit, but I find the best way to use it is in soups. Roughly chopped and thrown in 10 minutes before the soup is done, kale makes a tender, colorful and very healthy addition to most soups.
The Leelanau Children's Center's Northport kitchen is dedicated to our beloved friend, Basil Antenucci. Before his passing in 2011, Basil Antenucci was a champion of the Leelanau Children's Center's work. We wanted to keep his name alive in the Northport Community, a community in which Basil truly made a difference and a lasting legacy. Basil's Kitchen was dedicated on Friday, August 24, 2012.
