"Basil's Kitchen"

The Leelanau Children's Center honors our beloved friend Basil Antenucci by dedicating our Northport Kitchen in his name.

Before his passing in 2011, Basil Antenucci was a champion of the Leelanau Children's Center's work. We wanted to keep his name alive in the Northport Community, a community in which Basil truly made a difference and a lasting legacy. Basil's Kitchen was dedicated on Friday, August 24, 2012.

There is strong evidence that early childhood programs establishes the platform for future educational achievements and in addition to educational achievement participation enhances socialization skills and successful participation fosters the development of self esteem and self confidence.
