Program Director

HEATHER BARDENHAGEN is the LCC Northport Program Director. Heather works with staff and families to guide our five-star early childhood program in the Northport community. The Chickadees (toddler classroom)

ANNE RODECK has been with the Leelanau Children's Center for 16 years, the last 7 with toddlers. Anne is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys exploring the natural world with children and bringing treasures inside to examine. Anne has a B.A. in Spanish and Biology, a Child Development Associate degree, and has attended training for Infant Mental Health. She loves working with toddlers because every day is a new day as they investigate the world with curiosity and open minds.

CARLEE KOLARIK has a passion for fishing, hiking, and outdoor wilderness activities. She has been at the LCC for 2 years. Carlee has a Child Development Associate degree. She delights in sharing in the children's triumphs and the endless learning opportunities. 

Owl Classroon (preschool)

LAURA NARDON joined the team of teachers at the LCC in 2018. She believes that we are always learning and growing throughout our whole lives and considers it a privilege to be on this journey with your children. One of her role models in life is Mr. Fred Rogers and she strives to create a space where empathy, curiosity, and collaboration are celebrated. Laura has a degree in Recreation Therapy from Central Michigan University and has been working with children in a range of roles for the past 18 years.

BRITTNAY FOX received her Masters in Social Work and Veterinary Social Work from the University of Tennessee. While in school, Brittnay held an internship at a therapeutic riding center working with special needs children. She previously worked for Traverse City Area Public School summer camp, working with kindergarten and first-grade aged children. She is mom to a wonderful furry two-year-old dog named Hadley she recently adopted. When not at work, she loves to be in the garden, paddle boarding, and running. Brittnay started working at the LCC in 2018.

Support Staff

KIM TOMPKINS provides staff support in our Northport classrooms. Kim is a returning LCC teacher and has years of experience in our classrooms.

Kitchen Staff

BRIGITTE MIDDLETON-BROWN feeds us healthy snacks and hot lunches from scratch using many locally grown and sourced goods. Brigitte has a B.A. in Elementary Education and an Early Childhood Endorsement. She has been at the LCC for 12 years and brings loads of nuturing experience to her work with young children.
